Life In The Shallows

Based upon the primordial and baser aspects of human
nature (especially in view ofour colonial past). In
this exhibition Ed Allan
presents a series of paintings and drawings on paper
and wood in various media with 3D dioramas on a smaller
scale, from steaming tropics and lonely desert plains,
to fear of the unknown; from abusive to the banal.

Tavener (1920-2004) is well known for his printmaking
but throughout his career he explored also watercolour
painting and pen and ink drawing, as well as beautiful
observational pencil drawings. This exhibition is a
rare opportunity to see his relatively small number
of paintings and drawings, many of which will be available
for sale.

from travels in London and the South East including
Lewes, Brighton and Hastings are the basis for this
solo exhibition. The spontaneity found in Clark’s

a deep sense of mood is captured in her charcoal, ink
and pastel work.
